Our Mission
Santuario Diverso is dedicated to creating a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ centred sanctuary. Our mission is built on principles of safety, dignity, and community-led healing for those facing discrimination and instability.
Trauma-Informed Sanctuary
A dedicated space focused on safety, emotional wellbeing, and social inclusion, allowing individuals to process experiences with compassion.
LGBTQIA+ Community Support
We centre LGBTQIA+ individuals, including trans refugees and queer migrants, supporting them against discrimination and marginalisation.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Environment
Providing a space where every person can exist authentically, recognizing and valuing neurodivergent experiences.
Community-Led Healing
Built on principles of co-regulation, emotional education, and collective wisdom to foster belonging and empowerment.
We aim to function as a safe haven and sanctuary for all who are "othered" and fleeing fascism or discrimination in the South of Spain.
Who We Serve
We serve LGBTQIA+ individuals, trans refugees, neurodivergent youth and adults, queer migrants, and anyone fleeing discrimination, fascism, or unsafe environments in Southern Spain.
Why Málaga / Torremolinos?
Málaga and Torremolinos are key arrival points for LGBTQIA+, trans, and neurodivergent migrants seeking safety, yet the region lacks trauma-informed, culturally competent daytime support. Santuario Diverso fills this critical gap by providing a dedicated sanctuary where vulnerable individuals can access stability, community, and inclusive psychosocial care.
Our Programmes
Santuario Diverso offers a comprehensive range of support services designed specifically for our communities. Each programme is developed with input from members and delivered with cultural competence, trauma sensitivity, and neurodivergent awareness.
All core services are free. Optional wellness and evening programmes may include sliding-scale contributions to ensure sustainability.

Drop-in spaces offering structured support, community connection, and immediate crisis intervention for those experiencing distress or isolation in particular trans adolescents.

Specialized programmes addressing sensory processing needs and rejection sensitive dysphoria with evidence-based tools and peer support

Comprehensive assistance navigating legal systems, accessing healthcare, learning language skills, and building sustainable lives in Spain

Membership is completely free.
All we ask is that you share your story with us confidentially - your journey, struggles, identity, or hopes. Your narrative becomes your key to belonging, your proof of humanity, and your invitation into a community built with compassion.
We know every person carries experiences that shape who they are. When we honour your story, we honour you. There are no financial barriers and no complicated applications -only the courage to be seen and the willingness to connect.
Your stories will always be kept private, or anonymised and used in our Visibility work only if you choose to give consent.
We believe that hearing each other’s stories is how we grow, heal, and find our place - through shared lessons, kindness, and community wisdom.
We all carry stories that hurt and stories that heal.
The beauty of it? We won’t let our stories die, and they won’t kill us either — instead, they may help someone else survive.
